Master Password

Master password is a password that you set when you use the Realfire app for the first time. It is used to secure other secrets that we save in the file system like Salesforce Org credentials, or OAuth access token, etc.,

With master password, you will get the best of both worlds, the convenience of easy login without having to specify credentials each time and security of your secrets as without master password nobody can view what those secrets are.

Set Master Password

When you start the app for the first time, it will prompt you to set it. This password is not saved anywhere but kept in memory duration of the app instance.

There is no restriction on length or type of chars you can use as the password. Use something that is memorable and convenient for you to enter upon each app restart.

Enter Master Password

When you restart Realfire app, it will prompt you to enter the password you set earlier. If you enter the wrong password, an error message will be shown and you can try again. There is no limit on how many times you can retry the password.

Forgot Master Password

If you forget the master password, you can reset to a new one but all stored secrets will be cleared as they cannot be used without the original master password. You can specify the secrets as and when you connect to connections.

To reset password, click on Forgot Password? button in enter password dialog. Upon confirmation, app should prompt you to set new password.
