Sfdc UI Enhancements

Sfdc UI Enhancements are a set of enhancements that Brobench does to a Salesforce UI page, like changing Tab Favicon Color, changing Alert Bar Color, etc., Each of these enhancements can be turned on/off at a connection level. Note that most of these changes are designed to work in Lightning Experience, however, few of those will work in Classic UI as well.

All of these settings can be edited in Edit Connection dialog. To edit the connection associated with current Org, click on the Connection Menu -> Edit Connection.

Connection Color​

Connection color is a color that is assigned to a connection which should help identify that connection in various UI elements. Many of the UI Enhancements use this Connection color.

Every time you log in a Salesforce org, a connection is created, if not already exists for that username. When a connection is created, we assign a random color, which you can change in Edit Connection dialog.

Turning On/Off UI Enhancements​

When a connection is created, all the UI enhancements are enabled by default except for the Header Banner. You can turn on/off individual changes by editing the connection and selecting the checkbox as appropriate. If you turn off UI Enhancements global flag, all other changes will be disabled automatically. You could also enable globally but turn off individual changes as you wish.

App Launcher​

This setting adds a Popup Launcher icon to the page, which shows as Brobench Logo on the right edge of the screen. When you hover over the logo, it slides out a panel and brightens up. When you click on it, it opens the Brobench Popup in the page.

  • You can adjust the Position of the Popup Launcher holding the mouse down on the handler and dragging it to new position.
  • You can also set the position and size of the Popup in the Brobench Settings

Quick Search allows you to search for all Shortcuts via dialog within the Sfdc Page. It can be opened by using keyboard shortcut Cmd+B (Mac) or Ctrl+B (Windows) or from Search Icon in the App Launcher.

  • In Essential+ Quick Searcher indexes various metadata like Objects, Profiles, Permsets, Apex Classes, etc., This metadata is cached per connection and refreshed every 7 days automatically. If you have made metadata changes and you want to refresh the cache, type Refresh. into the Search input and it will re-index the metadata.
  • Search Dialog honors the Themes setting in Brobench App. If you have set it to Dark, then Dialog will show up in Dark Theme.

Pinned Shortcuts​

This feature adds various frequently accessed Setup pages to the empty space of Tab Strip. You can customize what shortcuts are shown and in which order as shown in Pinned Shortcuts section.

Tab Favicon Color​

This flag changes the Tab favicon to the current connection-colored version of Salesforce Icon. Note that Brobench internally users its own salesforce icon in svg format to change color, so if you have changed the Favicon to something else via other means, then it would be updated to Brobench one.

Tab Title Prefix​

This flag adds connection name to as prefix to tab title enclosed by []. For ex., if connection name is devorg, it would add prefix [devorg] to tab title. This prefix is maintained when tab title changes as you navigate to various pages in Salesforce.

Alert Bar Color​

This feature changes the Salesforce alert bar background color that is shown in Sandboxes or when you login as other users.

This feature works only when an Info Alert Bar is shown, which is shown in Sandboxes or when you logged in as the other User. If you log in as yourself in Production, since there is no Alert Bar, this feature is not applied. In such cases, you can use the Header Banner feature.

Header Banner​

Header Banner is a banner that is added to the top of the page. This is most useful for Production orgs when Alert Bar Color cannot be used as there is not typically an Alert shown.

Header Banner is not enabled by default, so please edit the connection and enable it.

App Banner​

App Banner is similar to Header Banner but shown within the Brobench App. It uses same Header Text and Animation setting as Header Banner.

Conn Name Box​

This feature adds a colored box with connection name left of Favorite in Salesforce UI as you can see in above screenshots.
